Strategy Guide
Welcome to Phoenix Down, A Final Fantasy TCG. This TCG will focus on the entire Final Fantasy series along with the Chocobo games as well as Kingdom Hearts. Final Fantasy has always been one of my most favorite games and so I hope to bring the most to this TCG.
The Cards
All cards here at Phoenix Down are worth 1, this includes Party Cards. There are different types of cards to be found here though. We have cards featuring scenes, characters, enemies, bosses, magic, summons, puzzle and pretty much what ever I feel like making. For specifics on Party Cards, please see the forums section of the site.
Items of Interest
There are several things to collect here at Phoenix Down. The first main thing you will want to keep track of is EXP points. You gain EXP with every game that you play here.
Here is an example of what EXP will look like:
Another thing you'll want to make sure you keep track of is gil. Gil is the main money system of all Final Fantasy games, and is implemented here as well.
Gil looks like:
Potions are an essential part of Final Fantasy. They help to heal your characters health and magic when used. Here, they will be used as coupons to obtain cards. They look like:
The last item that you can find here at Phoenix Down are chests. There are 5 different chests each containing different items, gil, potions, exp or cards. The chests look like:
I am looking for a way to do random events so that there will be other ways for you to gain these items and side quests things. I will post here when I figure it out.
Side Quests
As Final Fantasy fans know, side quests have become a big part of FF games. It will be no different here. Side quests are completely optional, but help to increase exp, and all other stuff as well. All quests are different when it comes to prerequisites and rewards so make sure you look at the correct quest page for details. Some quests rely on other quests as well so keep that in mind.
Saving and Disc Changes
Leveling Up:
All adventurers begin at Level 1. For every 1000 EXP you gain, you go up in level. There will be no level specific badges, so be sure to keep track of this. For leveling up you gain 1 choice card and 2 random cards.
Disc Changing:
There is a second leveling up system here at PD called Disc Changing. There are 14 levels to represent the current main FF games. Everyone starts out as a Light Warrior. Disc Change goes by card count. For every disc change you make, you gain 2 choice cards and 3 random cards.
Disc | Cards |
---|---|
Light Warrior | 0 |
Rebel | 50 |
Orphan | 100 |
Red Wing | 200 |
Warrior of Dawn | 350 |

Saving Your Game:
Whenever you master a deck it is important to save your progress so that nothing is lost. Cards that are mastered still count towards your total count but are no longer tradeable.
For mastering 15 card decks you get: 1 choice card and 3 random cards.
For mastering 30 card decks you get: 2 choice cards and 5 random cards.
